ジャニーズ大運動会

Johnny’s Sports Day is a sports event in which talents from Johnny’s Entertainment are divided into two teams and compete against each other. It started in 1971 as a fan club event.

The 2000 broadcast was subtitled “Johnny’s Muscle Ranking: The Fiery Athletic Meet No. 1 Showdown!” and aired on October 12, 2000. The actual event was held on October 8th. This year Ohno, Nino and Aiba were on the Red Team with Sho and Jun on the White Team. Takki also changed to the White Team. The team captains were the same as previous recent years. This was Arashi’s first year appearing as their own team instead of being on the Jr team!

The challenges for this year included BEACH FLAGS, SPONGE BRIDGE, STRIKE OUT and a baseball game.

The broadcast I found was a bit disappointing in terms of Arashi footage. The first event, BEACH FLAGS, was very fun and there’s a lot of Ohno in it,and then Aiba got a good segment in the Sponge Bridge. But beyond being in the background here and there that was about it…
