Arashi no V1 was a sports information variety show that aired on Fuji TV every Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM from October 30 to November 27, 1999, in conjunction with the 1999 Volleyball World Cup. It was broadcast live from a special venue in front of the Fuji TV headquarters building (Odaib a, and Makomanai Park in Hokkaido on November 6 only). The subtitle was "1999 HYPER TYPHOON."

    Masayuki Sakamoto (player and coach) and Arashi form a volleyball team and compete against Japanese supporters of the Volleyball World Cup participating countries. Broadcast via video.
    The opponents, in broadcast order, are the United States (Yokota Air Base team), Brazil, Russia, the People's Republic of China (Yokohama Chinatown team), and Italy (Pizza Chef team).
    Guest appearances on the November 20th episode include Hiromi Suzuki and Naomi Eto (Japan women's national volleyball team).

    Arashi compete one-on-one in a different event each time. Practice footage is also shown via video.
    The events, in broadcast order, include hopping long rope skipping, fork saber fruit, spinning bat and limbo dance, balloon catch, and one-on-one sumo.

     

  • Arashi's Attack No. 1
    Arashi observes and participates in the practice of the 1999 World Cup Volleyball players. A video broadcast is shown.

     

  • Profiler Arashi
    Arashi appear through face-in signs, and a quiz is held to guess what is depicted on the sign.
    The signs, in broadcast order, feature Bakatono and ballerina.
