Johnny’s Sports Day is a sports event in which talents from Johnny’s Entertainment are divided into two teams and compete against each other. It started in 1971 as a fan club event.
The 1999 match was subtitled “”Johnny’s & All-Star Dream Match 1999 at Tokyo Dome” and broadcast live on Sky Perfect TV! on October 10th, 1999. Just like in 1998, TOKIO’s Joushima Shigeru led the White Team, with Jun, Sho and Ohno and V6’s Sakamoto Masayuki led the Red Team with Nino and Aiba. The same groups from 1998-TOKIO, KinKi Kids, V6 and Johnny’s Jr. were here, but although Arashi had debuted and were labeled as “Arashi”, they were still on the Jr.s team.
The events were Soccer (including a penalty kick), Track & Field, Baseball and Basketball.

I could not find a full version of this event nor one of very good quality, but my favorite part was probably the soccer because Nino was the goalie. I have to mention that the comments Takki made toward Jun after the Jr. team relay were very off putting (his comment was that the Red Team won the relay because Jun, on the white team, did so poorly). I’m very excited for next year’s event in 2000 because Arashi finally gets their own team!!
