So happy we already have another Nagase drama and it’s with (blonde!!) Nino this time!!

I tend to enjoy medical shows, watched all of Grey’s Anatomy, Black Pean, Code Blue and some other ones. This seemed like a fun setup where we have a crazy doctor who doesn’t fit into the system and takes his own approach which (most of the time) actually work better. Nagase seems to play very passionate characters, his serious face and range of expressions was definitely made for that. The extremes in this show, which you can tell there will be a lot of from the opening credits, were well paired with his energy.

Nino plays his “brother” (gang related) and gets into a lot of mischief and shenanigans. He is an abrasive and reckless character but exudes so much Nino charm that you instantly forgive him for everything. As the show progresses, Nino’s character gets a bit more serious. He did a fantastic job in both the silly rebel parts and the somber, painful scenes. His range continues to grow as he challenges all these different types of roles.

This is another nice human drama that focuses on people’s experiences in hospitals with a generous amount of compassion layered over the portrayals. I think only Nino’s story made me cry, but the patient stories were still touching.

I’m going to say even though this show had one of my fave Nino characters so far, it could have been a bit better. There were parts of it that I didn’t feel super interested in despite really loving the actors and characters. But the OP theme is so catchy and Nino and Nagase’s characters are extremely loveable, so it’s still worth a watch.
