#003 Shonen Taiya: Aoki’s Wife

Summary

Shounen Taiya: Aoki-San Uchi no Oku-san (Aoki’s Wife) aired on Fuji TV from January 8th – 29, 2002. It was the 3rd program in the Shonen Tire series; a Johnny’s program in cooperation with a theater company. Each story consists of four episodes and a “making of” special.

In this story, Ohno plays a new employee at a liquor store where Aiba and Sakurai also work. The coworkers tell exaggerated stories of their boss’ wife and Ohno decides he wants to meet her. But first he must pass all the tests of his ridiculous coworkers! Many of the scenes were improvised and you can catch the members giggling here and there as they react to each other’s ad lib.

I thought this was so funny and enjoyable. It’s extra nice to have multiple Arashi members in the cast and seeing them improvise together is a blast. The scenarios of the skits were genuinely clever. Even though basically nothing happens in this show it’s well made and fun!
