About the drama “Kisarazu Cat’s Eye”
As expected, it all starts with Kankuro Kudo’s script. The dialogue is incredibly realistic. The words we use and would likely use fit perfectly. Most of the filming staff are the same ones from “Heaven Cannot Wait 2,” so it’s incredibly easy and very helpful.

About Kisarazu…
I’ll be honest, I was put off the first time I went (lol). I recommend the sunrise from the Aqua Line! It’s so beautiful. But it also comes with a lot of sacrifices…the cold, the sleepiness, and the 3,000 yen one-way ticket (lol).

About the role of “Bambi”
For better or worse, Bambi is a “kid acting like a brat right now.” I’m sure that wouldn’t be the case if you really explore his true nature, but for now, he’s just cutely childish. Bambi has a crush on Moko, but when she’s around, he can’t say anything… basically, he’s a shy guy. When the five members of Cats talk about Moko, they talk about a lot of things, but he seems childish when it comes to important things. He probably can’t be honest about his falling out with Bussan either. At first, I didn’t understand the meaning of the nickname “Bambi.” Bussan is Tabuchi… Ani is his big brother… Master is Master. Uchiyama is Ucchi. No matter how much I thought about it, I couldn’t figure out the origin, so I asked Miyato. He said, “Huh? Sakurai, you look like Bambi.” (laughs) It seems there’s no other reason than that… Do we look alike? I’ve been told I look like a hamster, though (laughs).

Impressions of co-stars
The five members of Cats are just like they are in the drama (laughs). It almost feels like a drama of us just talking. We say our lines exactly as they’re written, but when it comes to movements and other things, the ad-libs we come up with as a group are pretty much there. We often practice in between chatting away. On the other hand, if we were all hanging out somewhere together, it might be scary if everyone was quiet. This is my first time acting with Okada (Jun). If I had to describe my impression or thoughts, I’d say he’s “a completely different type from Matsuoka, who I worked with before.” Matsuoka’s ability to switch gears is amazing. He usually seems laid-back, but when it comes to performances, his expression changes instantly. Okada is like Bussan the whole time. He seems to be the type who is constantly focused. I think that’s why the five members of Cats can act in their usual atmosphere.
