金田一少年の事件簿 (Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo)▫️2001 ▫️Episodes
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this series because before this I wasn’t familiar with the Kindaichi franchise. But honestly, it has it all:
Murder.
Mystery.
Jun’s hair.
Non-stop close ups of Jun’s face.
Jun’s hair.
Suzuki Anne.
Jun’s hair.

This show was so well produced and the cases were exceptionally entertaining. I can see why Kindaichi has like 10 seasons plus the anime. I actually did watch some of the anime after seeing this drama and I might even check out some of the other live action seasons. They won’t have Jun’s hair, though….

Although I don’t tend to like modern murder mystery shows or even supernatural content, this really pulled me in! It was definitely a bit creepy at points, but not in a way that was off putting. Jun’s face of course soothes any anxiety.

I was hoping for a bit more romance between Jun and Anne, and there are some cute moments, but I guess it’s valid to not make that a main point in the show because they are too busy solving murder mysteries. I just love Anne being around Arashi this much, she is one of my favorite partners in crime for them.

There was a great balance between comedy and serious drama and the scenarios were pretty unique. The soundtrack is also amazing, which I didn’t really notice until I went back to listen to it on its own.

I recommend this show to everyone! The hair! The murder! Jun’s face from .01 mm away! Whatever your interests, this will entertain you. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite show that I’ve watched so far but it has earned the highest rating so far. The production is simply outstanding.
