白夜の女騎士

Summary

“Byakuya no Onna Knight” is a stage work by Hideki Noda. This is the first part of the “Stonehenge” trilogy with the motif of Wagner’s opera “The Ring of Nibelung”.
In 1985 it premiered as the 26th performance of the theater company Yume no Yume no Yumeisha, and the following year it was re-enacted in the form of a trilogy performance. In 2006, it was performed under the direction of Yukio Ninagawa, and a new aspect of the work was brought to light with his unique interpretation of the play.
In a world where Kobito, giants and Gods fight over the ownership of the new product “Human”, the amateur radio enthusiast Sasuke meets Nobunaga, who is a ham radio companion, and climbs Mt. Fuji.

These screencaps are from a fancam of the 05.30 performance. I couldn’t follow this play well so I wasn’t able to pay attention as much as I’d like but it seemed really creative and interesting. The costumes and sets were wild and MatsuJun was clearly giving his best for this more avant-garde role. The flying parts looked so cool! Nice to see Suzuki Anne again, too.
