木更津キャッツアイ 日本シリーズ ▫️2003 ▫️Info
I was really excited to get back with my Kisarazu buddies again!! This movie was even more chaotic and silly than the original show, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It was a pretty fun and surreal adventure, I guess they could explore some creative ideas even further in the movie format. The plot definitely bounced around a bit more than I was expecting. The section near the end on the deserted island was kind of disorienting, but I actually loved the trash monster.

I think it was a comfy place to return to and overall it kept the spirit from the original show alive. Some of the new adventures they all went on were pretty fun and I like that Bussan is still dealing with his terminal illness, even more dramatically this time around. I also think Sho had some nice moments in this one, Bambi really is such a great character!

The original show is definitely better as a whole but this is still a fun way to see the characters and town again. I think if this movie had been a one-off thing it would have made more sense with some of the really odd scenes, but as a continuation of the show sometimes it felt a bit too over the top.

I’d say if you liked the show, this is worth a watch. And if you enjoy weird Japanese movies with good but also weird vibes, this will fit the bill as well. I am very curious how the final Kisarazu movie from 2006 will pan out… YASSAI MOSSAI!!
